How is the Garden Funded?
Support for the garden has changed throughout the years; it has been sponsored variously by garden clubs, student groups, companies in the horticulture industry, individual benefactors, and the University itself. The Garden needs to continue to generate private gifts in order to maintain its high level of service to the community. Make a donation to the Garden.
Tax-deductible gifts play a crucial role in all institutions of higher learning. These gifts can take the form of funding, or materials needed to keep the garden running. Please contact Department Head Emily Hoover at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions regarding your donation.
The University of Minnesota offers easy, online giving through a secure website.
To make a contribution by phone, call the University of Minnesota card hotline at 612-626-8560 or 800-775-2187 and leave your full name and phone number, the type of credit card, the card number, the expiration date, and the amount of your gift. Specify the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) and the Department of Horticultural Science, and designate your gift to the Display & Trial Garden.
The U of M Foundation has created a form (pdf), which is available for download and print. Once you’ve completed it, send the form to the University of Minnesota Foundation (the address is listed on the form). Contributions can be made by check, credit card, or electronic funds transfer. Specify that your gift is to be directed to the Department of Horticultural Science and to the Display & Trial Garden.
